On August 8, Registrar Corp will be hosting a seminar at Vietfish, the leading seafood show in Vietnam. The seminar will focus on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and changes in FDA seafood regulations.
The goal of FSMA is to change the focus of food safety from response to prevention. One way FSMA worked toward that goal was by expanding FDA oversight authority over imported foods. The U.S. imports 80% of seafood products, so it’s not surprising that the seafood industry is a focus of FDA regulatory reform. Within a year of FSMA being signed by President Obama, FDA issued final rules for prior notice on imported food, met the FSMA foreign food safety inspection mandate, and issued an updated guidance on seafood safety hazards. Join Registrar Corp at Vietfish to learn more about FSMA and what’s in store for the seafood industry. For specific questions, visit Registrar Corp’s booth #1008.
