Foreign Supplier Verification Programs (FSVP)

U.S. FDA CITATION: 21 C.F.R. § 1 Subpart L (2016)

Under the FDA Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) rule, most U.S. importers must develop FSVPs to provide adequate assurances that their foreign suppliers are producing food in compliance with processes and procedures that provide at least the same level of public health protection as those required under section 418 (Hazard Analysis and Risk-based Preventive Controls) or section 419 (Standards for Produce Safety) of the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act.

Registrar Corp’s Food Safety Specialists are Qualified Individuals that can develop a new FSVP or review your current program for compliance.

The FSVP rule requires U.S. importers to monitor their suppliers’ FDA compliance statuses. Learn how Registrar Corp’s FDA Compliance Monitor makes supplier monitoring easy.
