U.S. FDA Food Safety Services

The FDA Food Safety Modernization Act ("FSMA"), enacted in 2011, requires FDA to undertake a new mission: preventing outbreaks of foodborne illness before they occur, including outbreaks that might originate in food facilities outside the United States.

FSMA outlines broad new requirements on manufacturers, processors, packers and distributors of food, including an increase in food facility inspections and a requirement for food facilities to have a written Hazard Analysis and Food Safety Plan. The FDA is also proposing that food facilities have a written Food Defense Plan to prevent intentional contamination and tampering of food products. Registrar Corp offers services to help food companies comply successfully.

Mock FDA Inspection Service
FSMA directs FDA to conduct thousands of inspections of non-U.S. food facilities annually, doubling the number conducted each year. By 2016, FDA will be required to inspect nearly 40,000 non-U.S. food facilities each year. Prior to FSMA, non-U.S. food facilities were inspected by FDA rarely. Now nearly every facility that supplies food to the United States should expect an FDA inspection, eventually.

FDA inspections differ from third party audits and inspections by other countries' food agencies. A mock FDA inspection may identify potential FDA issues while there is time to fix them before the FDA inspectors arrive. Registrar Corp's Mock FDA Inspection will help you to prepare for the real FDA inspection.
