Job Title:
Senior Food Safety and Regulatory Specialist

Job Description: Prepare for and conduct food safety system and good manufacturing practice assessments in a variety of food manufacturing environments. Research and draft technical (food safety and regulatory) documents/reports in response to client needs. Coordinate project efforts with technical staff (e.g. prepare food facility assessment reports and follow-up on corrective actions when required; participate in the process of upgrading internal technical manuals, etc.). Prepare and execute educational food safety presentations. Function as a member of cross-departmental teams and projects as requested. Extensive travel required to overseas locations to provide services to our clients. This position reports directly to the Director, Food Safety.
Education: BA/BS or higher in Food Science, Food Microbiology, Food Chemistry or related degree.
Requirements:
- Ability and willingness to travel (greater than 50% travel) to overseas locations independently.
- Experience performing audits and/or food manufacturing facility inspections.
- Working knowledge of FDA GMP's (21 CFR 110).
- Working knowledge of HACCP.
- Excellent technical writing skills.
- Certifications as an auditor or food commodity specific processes (e.g. seafood HACCP, Dairy pasteurization, BRC, SQF, etc.).
- Ability to foster effective relationships with clients.
- Ability to contribute effectively in cross-departmental team settings.
- Other desirable qualifications: bilingual, overseas travel experience, and broad knowledge/experience of various food-processing operations via training or work experience.
